Governing Your Stay at Makkah Group of Hostels

1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for accommodation at Makkah Group of Hostels in Lahore, Pakistan, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services or proceed with your application.
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Makkah Group of Hostels regarding your use of our accommodation services.
2. Application Process
2.1 Complete and Accurate Information: All applicants must complete the online registration form with accurate and complete information. Providing false or misleading information may result in rejection of your application or termination of your accommodation.
2.2 Mandatory Punjab Police Verification: As part of the application process, all information will be submitted to the Punjab Police verification portal for background checks. This is a mandatory requirement for all residents as per Pakistani law and our commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
2.3 Required Documentation: Applicants must provide valid identification (CNIC/NICOP) and academic documents (university ID, enrollment verification, etc.) as part of the application process.
2.4 Management Discretion: The hostel management reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its sole discretion, without providing specific reasons for rejection.
3. Punjab Police Verification
Mandatory Security Clearance
3.1 Pre-Check-in Requirement: All approved applicants must complete the Punjab Police verification process before check-in. This involves submission of personal information to the Punjab Police database for security clearance.
3.2 Applicant Responsibility: Applicants are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of information submitted to the Punjab Police portal. Any discrepancies may result in rejection of the application or termination of accommodation.
3.3 No Liability for Delays: The hostel management will not be held responsible for delays or issues arising from the Punjab Police verification process. Applicants are advised to apply well in advance of their intended check-in date.
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Security Deposit: A security deposit of Rs. 10,000 is required at the time of check-in. This deposit will be refunded upon vacating, subject to deductions for any damages or outstanding fees as outlined in our Security Deposit Refund Policy.
4.2 Monthly Rent: Rent must be paid in advance on the 1st of each month. Late payments will incur a penalty of 5% per day after a 3-day grace period.
4.3 Non-Refundable Payments: All payments are non-refundable except as specified in the Security Deposit Refund Policy. This includes rent for months already paid, even if you vacate early.
4.4 Eviction for Non-Payment: Failure to pay rent for more than 15 days may result in eviction without refund of security deposit or prepaid rent.
4.5 Payment Methods: Payments can be made via bank transfer, cash at the management office, or approved digital payment platforms.
5. Duration of Stay
5.1 Minimum Stay Period: The minimum stay period is 3 months. Shorter stays may be approved at the discretion of management with adjusted pricing.
5.2 Notice Period: Residents must provide 30 days' written notice before vacating. This notice must be submitted via email to info@makkahgroupofhostels.com and confirmed by management.
5.3 Early Termination: Early termination of stay may result in forfeiture of security deposit and any prepaid rent for the notice period.
5.4 Contract Renewal: Accommodation contracts are automatically renewed on a month-to-month basis after the initial term unless either party provides written notice of termination.
6. Resident Responsibilities
6.1 Cleanliness and Maintenance: Residents must maintain cleanliness and order in their rooms and common areas. Regular housekeeping services are provided for common areas, but residents are responsible for their private spaces.
6.2 Noise Policy: Noise levels must be kept to a minimum, especially between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. This includes music, television, conversations, and other activities that may disturb other residents.
6.3 Visitor Policy: Visitors are allowed only in designated common areas and must leave by 8:00 PM. Overnight guests are strictly prohibited. Residents must register visitors at the front desk.
6.4 Cooking Restrictions: Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited due to fire safety regulations. Designated kitchen areas are available for resident use.
6.5 Personal Belongings: Residents are responsible for their personal belongings. The hostel is not liable for lost or stolen items. We recommend securing valuables and obtaining personal insurance.
6.6 Facility Usage: Residents must use hostel facilities responsibly and report any damages or maintenance issues to management immediately.
7. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on Makkah Group of Hostels premises:
- Smoking and Tobacco: Smoking or use of tobacco products anywhere on the premises, including rooms, balconies, and common areas.
- Alcohol and Drugs: Consumption or possession of alcohol or illegal substances.
- Gambling: Any form of gambling or betting activities.
- Political/Religious Activities: Political or religious activities that may cause disturbance or conflict among residents.
- Commercial Activities: Unauthorized commercial activities, including running a business from your room.
- Violence and Harassment: Violence, harassment, threatening behavior, or any form of discrimination against staff or other residents.
- Restricted Areas: Unauthorized entry into restricted areas such as staff offices, utility rooms, or rooftops.
- Property Damage: Intentional damage to hostel property or facilities.
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate eviction without refund of security deposit or prepaid rent, and may be reported to local authorities as appropriate.
8. Security and Safety
8.1 Security Personnel: 24/7 security personnel are on duty. Residents must cooperate with security protocols, including ID checks and visitor registration.
8.2 CCTV Surveillance: CCTV cameras are installed in common areas (hallways, entrances, common rooms) for security purposes. Cameras are not installed in private rooms or bathrooms.
8.3 Reporting Concerns: Residents must report any security concerns, suspicious activities, or safety hazards to management immediately.
8.4 Room Inspections: The hostel management reserves the right to conduct room inspections with 24 hours' notice for maintenance, safety, or compliance checks. Emergency inspections may be conducted without notice if there is an immediate safety concern.
8.5 Emergency Procedures: Residents must familiarize themselves with emergency procedures posted in common areas and follow instructions from staff during emergencies.
9. Termination of Accommodation
9.1 Management Termination: The hostel management may terminate accommodation for violation of rules, non-payment, security concerns, or any behavior deemed detrimental to the hostel community.
9.2 Immediate Eviction: Residents may be required to vacate immediately in cases of serious violations, including but not limited to: illegal activities, violence, drug possession, or threats to safety.
9.3 Financial Consequences: In cases of termination, the security deposit may be forfeited, and any unpaid fees will be deducted from the deposit. Residents remain responsible for any additional costs incurred by the hostel due to their actions.
9.4 Resident Termination: Residents may terminate their accommodation by providing 30 days' written notice as specified in Section 5.2. Failure to provide proper notice may result in forfeiture of security deposit.
10. Amendments to Terms
10.1 Right to Modify: We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time to reflect changes in operations, legal requirements, or safety protocols.
10.2 Notification of Changes: Changes will be posted on our website and communicated to residents via email at least 15 days before they take effect.
10.3 Continued Acceptance: Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must provide notice of termination as outlined in Section 5.2.
11. Governing Law
11.1 Applicable Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
11.2 Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
11.3 Dispute Resolution: Before pursuing legal action, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any disputes through good-faith negotiations with management.
